3G Hockey Pitch

This was a design and build contract working in partnership with Neath and Port Talbot CC and Bouygues UK Ltd. The full-size Hockey Pitch is FIH Certified and meets FIFA quality pro standards.

Inscapes took over the plateau following demolition of the old school building and extensive earthworks carried out by Bouygues. The base is an engineered type complete with full drainage system, geogrid layer, type 3 sub base and a porous ET35 elastic tarmac layer was installed to tolerances.

The perimeter fencing was 4m in height, with the installation proving to be a challenge due to the exposed nature of the site. An LED Floodlight system was designed and installed complete with remote Wi-Fi control providing the end user with various lighting options. The surface is a Polytan PoliGrass Terra 218 18mm hockey pitch laid over the ET35 (Insitu elastic tarmac) 35mm insitu rubber and granite stone base with FIH cert.

A challenging project due to its location and site restraints but the finished product is a first class facility.
