Kew Gardens
Turf repair along winter walk
In 1759, Princess Augusta, mother of King George III, founded the nine-acre botanic garden within the pleasure grounds at Kew. From its origins as an 18th century royal palace, Kew Gardens has evolved into a globally renowned scientific institution dedicated to plant and fungal research. Established in 2013, Christmas at Kew is one of the UK’s leading and most acclaimed illuminated trails.
Inscapes are involved in the annual turf restoration of the Winter Walk after the Christmas at Kew event.
The existing grass is removed using our turf cutter. The ground is prepared ready for the installation of fresh turf by cultivating, grading, and using our Blec Harley rake/pedestrian stone rake to create a tilth on the ground. We install approximately 4,000m2 of our premium cultivated turf. The turf is then rolled with our pedestrian turf roller.
