The Celtic Manor Resort
Drainage Improvements
The Celtic Manor Resort is home of the 2010 Ryder Cup and host venue of the NATO Summit 2014. The five-star hotel is set in more than 2,000 acres of panoramic parkland at the gateway of Wales.
Inscapes are involved in numerous projects for the Celtic Manor Resort on their golf courses and the roof garden after Winter Wonderland events. These works consist of drainage works, ground works, and turfing. Additionally, we supply turf, soil, and bark products as required on the estate.
Inscapes were asked to undertake drainage improvements to the 2010 course. These works are still ongoing and will be for a few years to come. Secondary drainage was installed to the course to remove the surface water quickly from the surface and transfer it into the existing laterals. The 8th, 9th, and 11th Fairways were all sand slitted at 3m centres and 275-300mm depths. We are also undertaking sandbanding to the Fairways once sand slitting is completed.
