Rugby/ Football Pitch Reconstruction

Inscapes were awarded the project to completely re-construct 3 Rugby/Football pitches for Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC at 2 sites, Garth Olwyg School and Llantwit Fadre RFC. The pitches had been poorly constructed and were unusable for large parts of the season. The Council employed GeoTurf Consulting to produce a design and specification for the works. Inscapes tendered successfully for the project and once on-board were able to add some value engineering to the project whilst still bring it all in on budget. All 3 pitches were deep cultivated and re-graded to achieve better cross-falls to assist drainage flows. Primary drainage systems were installed and combined with secondary drainage systems – Sand Slits combined with Sand Bands & Top draining.

The existing soil for each pitch was assessed and suitable amounts of medium fine sand was added to ameliorate the soil ready for cultivation and seeding. Inscapes then grew-in the pitch for the next 12 months – new goals posts were installed and the pitches handed over to the School & Rugby Club in September 2019.
