Basic Function
We are currently looking for an Apprentice Fitter/Fabricator to join our growing team in our Bridgend Depot, ideal for recent school leavers. You will support the fabrication, fitting, repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment while completing an apprenticeship programme. You will develop practical engineering skills, learn safe workshop practices, and assist experienced fitters and fabricators in daily operations.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist with fabrication, fitting and welding activities under supervision.
- Read and follow engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Prepare, assemble and repair metal components and structures.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, reporting defects promptly.
- Prepare machinery and equipment for mobilisation to site.
- Undertake on-site repairs and maintenance under supervision.
- Operate workshop tools and equipment safely.
- Wash down machinery and maintain a clean, tidy workshop and yard.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Carry out tasks as instructed and represent the company professionally at all times.
- Attend apprenticeship training and actively develop engineering skills.
