CORE Water Soakaway Crate

A modern, efficient alternative to traditional rubble-filled soakaways. CORE Water crates are now the go-to choice for managing rainwater in residential and commercial projects, and are suitable for use beneath gardens, pedestrian areas and vehicle traffic.

Each crate measures 800mm x 500mm x 500mm and holds around 200 litres of water. As a guide, allow one crate for every 10–12m² of area to be drained. The crates are quick to assemble and can be joined together to create larger soakaways.

Each crate should be wrapped in the geotextile filtration membrane supplied, which stops soil and silt getting in and keeps the soakaway draining effectively over time.

Guidance notes

• Soakaway performance depends on how well the surrounding ground drains. Avoid installing in heavy clay soils.
• Multi-crate soakaways should be installed away from areas with vehicle traffic.
