3G Pitch Installation

As part of RCT County Council’s ongoing facility upgrades, the 12-year-old hockey pitch at Caedrawnant Recreation Ground has been replaced with a state-of-the-art 3G surface, enabling full-contact rugby to be played.

The project involved the removal of the existing carpet and shock pad, followed by the demolition of the internal perimeter tarmac path to seamlessly integrate levels with the main tarmac area. Upgrades were also made to the perimeter fencing to enhance durability and security. A high-performance ProPlay Sport 20 prefabricated shock pad was installed, topped with a premium Desso iDNA X 60 3G surface. The final phase included precision line marking and the application of sand and rubber infill to complete the transformation.
