End of Season Renovations
At the end of the playing season, football pitches require a structured renovation programme to restore surface quality, improve playability and ensure long term performance. We provide tailored end of season renovations for both hybrid and natural grass pitches, using specialist equipment and proven techniques to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
The renovation process begins with removing the existing surface, organic matter and accumulated thatch using a Koro. This creates the ideal foundation for renovation and ensures that all subsequent works are carried out on an even and receptive profile. The surface is then re-levelled where required to restore uniformity, followed by rotary brushing to clean and prepare the pitch.
Topdressing is applied to improve levels, enhance soil structure and protect new seed. Aeration using a Verti-Drain is then carried out to relieve compaction, improve root development and promote the movement of air and water through the soil profile. This is followed by cultivation to create an optimal seedbed, ensuring strong and even germination across the entire surface.
To support rapid establishment, a balanced fertiliser is applied to provide essential nutrients for early growth. The process is completed with precision drill seeding using high-quality sports turf seed mixtures, delivering maximum coverage and establishing a dense, durable playing surface capable of sustaining intensive use.
In addition to the core renovation works, we offer a range of drainage services to further improve pitch performance. These include lateral drainage installation, sand banding, and sand slitting, all designed to enhance water movement and reduce surface water retention. Irrigation systems can also be installed or upgraded to maintain consistent moisture levels during establishment and throughout the season.
