MUGA Upgrades

Inscapes were contracted by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to upgrade the MUGA at Tredegar Sports Centre. The project involved the refurbishment and upgrade of an outdoor multi-use sports area and adjacent car park facilities. Initial site preparation works were undertaken which included the removal of the existing fencing, fence posts and surfacing materials to clear the area for the new installations. 

Following the preparation works, a new perimeter fence was installed along with steel galvanised kickboard to improve durability and protection around the sports area. Works were also carried out at the car park entrance where macadem surfacing was supplied and laid to create a new, durable access point. The existing basketball and netball goals were carefully re-set and a two-tone acrylic coating system was applied across the court area. Line markings were then completed to designate areas for both netball and basketball play. In addition, thermoplastic line markings were installed within the newly created parking bays to clearly define vehicle spaces.

Existing floodlight fittings were removed and replaced with new LED floodlighting units designed to deliver a maintained lighting level of approximately 200 lux, significantly improving visibility and energy efficiency. New freestanding basketball goals were supplied and installed. These included projecting arms and steel backboards, providing a robust and professional standard of equipment suitable for regular sports use.
