Boscawen Park Drainage Improvements
Inscapes were contracted by Truro City Council to improve drainage on Boscawen Park Sports Pitches. A bespoke dust suppression unit was designed and fabricated in-house at our Bridgend workshop to reduce airborne dust emissions during operations, protecting local air quality and minimising environmental impact. The project met high environmental standards, with emissions equating to 23.5T CO₂, highlighting Inscapes’ commitment to sustainable construction and environmentally responsible sports facility development.
The drainage system involved the installation of lateral drains with precision laser-guided cutting, twin-wall main drains, concreted chambers and outlets. Pipe drains were laid and backfilled, the pitch was sand slit including excavation, pipe laying and backfilling with stone and rootzone. Manholes were set on concrete chambers, and the existing surface layer of the pitches was removed using our Koro. Finally, a rootzone carpet was spread across the pitches, the areas were stone raked, fertilised and seeded to establish a high-quality, durable playing surface.
“In all elements Inscapes were excellent, working around issues and problem solving when needed. The control of gradients on the pipe was outstanding in difficult, stony soils and all the work conducted was done efficiently, to schedule and neatly. Indeed, the standard of the work was first rate with the site was kept neat and tidy throughout the works. Project administration was very good, with clear and timely communication, appropriate invoicing and rapid responses to queries which resulted in a successful project that ran to time and budget. I would happily work with Inscapes on other projects.” Alex Vickers - Consultant Grounds Management Association
